What is in season in June? We have all the delicious details.

1. Strawberries
- Nature's candy. dried in the oven they taste like candy but healthier option (unless you are allergic to strawberries than Not for you)
- straight off the vine (I like to wash them with a hose or in sink in case a raccoon took a pee on it while having a midnight snack)
cut in a bowl with a little sugar or whipped cream
- strawberry shortcake, muffins and crumbles
- smoothies and ice cream
2.Rhubarb
The tartness of rhubarb is an acquired taste I guess but our family loves it. There are lots of tings you can do with Rhubarb.
- stew it
- make strawberry rhubarb ice cream... There's a vegan recipe on our recipe page
- rhubarb crumble, cake and cookies
- rhubarb blueberry sauce for waffles or ice cream
- a dessert sauce for on things like keylime pie
3. Peas

I used to love going to the garden and picking pea pods with my grandmother.
- Just one serving of fresh or freshly frozen garden peas and petits pois contains as much vitamin C as two large apples!
- An 85 gram serving of peas, cooked, provides 50 calories, 4 grams of protein, 8 grams of carbohydrate (of which 3.5 grams are sugars), 3.8 grams of fibre, 17mg of vitamin C (28% of the recommended daily allowance) and 0.2mg Thiamine (B1) (15% of the recommended daily allowance).A 100 calories serving of peas contains more protein than a whole egg or tablespoon of peanut butter.
